Quilts, and a whole lot more…

We usually recommend that you pre-wash your batik fabrics before you put them in your quilt. Batiks are handmade and can often have dye and/or wax left on the surface of the fabric. For that reason, we recommend that you pre-wash your batiks in cool water with a soap made for keeping the dye from depositing on other fabrics in the wash such as Synthrapol. Just a capful of Synthrapol in your water will be enough to keep the dye from transferring to other fabrics. Dry in a low temperature dryer. This procedure will prevent any dye transfer when you wash your completed quilt. NotJustQuiltZ always has Synthrapol in a 4 oz. bottle for $2.95 each.
